In April, HSM Industri and the City of Copenhagen entered into an agreement regarding the two channel bridges for Tranggraven/Christianshavns kanal and Proviantmagasingraven.
Works on the channel bridges came to a standstill as first the contractor E. Pihl & Søn and then their subcontractor VSB went bankrupt.


This agreement is split into two stages. At first, it only involved a review period and project optimisation in terms of completing the bridges using the spans partly completed by VSB. Later the agreement also included the actual completion contract.
On 15 June, the bridges arrived by ship to Grenaa Harbour and were moved by special transport to HSM Industri.


The blacksmiths are now hard at work producing the last items before applying a special German paint as surface coating to all bridge parts. The walkways and bicycle paths must be applied non-skid coating. The opening/closing functions of the bridge must be tested before transporting the bridge sections back to Grenaa Harbour to be sailed to the inner harbour in Copenhagen where HSM Industri's assembly team will start assembly of the bridge sections.


Once finished, the bridges and the Inderhavnsbroen will connect Nyhavn with Christianshavn and Holmen. The channel bridges are expected to be finished at the turn of the year 2014-2015.
